Background

The London Olympic Games open on Friday 27 July 2012 and run until 12 August 2012, with the Paralympic Games opening a month later on Wednesday 29 August 2012 running until 9 September 2012.

Over 200 nations will be taking part in these Olympic Games, with 150 nations taking part in the Paralympic Games, making it the largest worldwide event and a truly global spectacle.

Our Approach

At CIS our Olympic Strategy Team, consisting of Senior Managers from all departments within our business, is committed to the following key objectives, to ensure that we support both our clients and our employees during and leading up to London 2012.

Key Objectives

Communication – To communicate effectively with our clients, employees and stakeholders in relation to the Games and parallel events, via the CIS website, as part of regular client and employee meetings and the CIS Newsletters, ensuring that all communication provided is relevant and consistent.

Planning & Preparation – To include ‘London 2012’ within the agenda of client meetings to ensure that any specific requirements are addressed effectively and in a timely manner.

Protection & Prevention – To assess each element of risk for our clients’ premises and overall security service provision in relation to their individual requirements leading up to and during the Games. Putting preventative measures and corrective actions in place to ensure that risks are minimized.

Client & Employee Assurance – To ensure that all requirements are met for our clients and employees such as adjustments to manning levels, employee transport support and advice, additional training requirements, and effective annual leave management in preparation for the Games.

Summary

CIS acting as a conduit are committed to offering support, management and guidance during the Games. Information will be available via our website, newsletters and bulletins. Downloadable documents and useful links relevant to the logistics of the Games and how this may affect day to day Security and FM services will also be provided.
