CIS join the ‘Junior Citizen’ Community Safety Campaign
Junior Citizen encourages today’s children to be the responsible citizens of tomorrow by teaching them how to deal with everyday dangers safely and effectively. It provides practical learning for youngsters, whilst encouraging good citizenship and a sense of community responsibility. Children take part in interactive scenarios that require them to make decisions about personal safety that could one day save a life. Themes covered include, fire safety, knife crime, road safety, transport safety, healthy living, first aid, bullying and internet safety.
Junior Citizen Digital is a complete and interactive educational programme that teaches young people about all aspects of child safety. It combines the full content of a traditional lesson with the ease, convenience and value of digital media, as well as fully satisfying teaching outcomes for Personal, Social, Health & Economic (PSHE) Education. At 11 years of age, many children come into contact for the first time with peer pressure, bullying and drugs. The training programme supports the invaluable work by the Police Officers and enables them to reach more children with vital messages.
