Soaring the sky for a good cause

There is a word to describe someone who jumps out of a plane at 13,500 feet to raise money for charity and that word is brave

Amanda McCloskey, CIS Sales and Marketing Director and not a fan of heights, certainly showed great courage when she soared in the sky on Sunday 26th May!

Amanda and some of her family members, supported by the expert team at UK Parachuting, were all keen to leave a meaningful impact and support further research to fight cancer. They took just a few minutes to hurtle groundward at some 140 miles per hour, deploying a parachute and safely landing on the ground of Peterborough.

Describing how she felt during this spectacular experience, Amanda commented: “In the plane and as I was about to jump, I was extremely nervous, but all the team were very supportive and nice and, to be honest, once you’re up there, you don’t really want to back off! When it was over, I was full of adrenaline and shaky and relieved to have landed in one piece!”

Amanda showed a great deal of determination and successfully fulfilled her pledge to raise funds for a good cause. No cake sale for this intrepid lady! For her efforts, she raised in excess of £950,00 for Cancer Research UK.

At CIS we couldn’t be more proud to be working alongside such extraordinary individuals inside and outside the workplace.
